My perspective is only much simpler. The author is basically asking the question "What would happen if true and unforgivable evil grew a conscious?" That simplifies the entire plot greatly but that feels like the main thing being tackled in this manga.

Mild overanalysis here: The main problem with this story is the magnitude and stakes of everything. MC has to clear 100 levels only to reintegrate with a society that's been overrun with monsters. The issue is, the author decides to show us almost every single stage making the story go at snails pace. They need to add time skips to random levels MC found difficult. Otherwise, this shit will be way too fucking long. We're already at chapter 191 and MC is around the 20's and 30's (Bear with me, I don't fully remember). This story is dragging. It has been for a fucking long time tbf though.

That is fair. In my defence, I wrote this review after they passed the fifth floor which I genuinely thought was a spectacular chapter. I still think it is good but the mc does need a lil humbling and some shit to happen to make a genuinely good story rather than an edgy power fantasy
