Where the characters are at a funeral and the sleazy guy mentions that 'grief is the best aphrodisiac' or some shit like that. How is played off in these films? It's seen as grimy and disgusting. This is the exact same thing. It's gross and also just a hilarious generalisation that all it takes to get over grief is to just get laid.

My perspective is only much simpler. The author is basically asking the question "What would happen if true and unforgivable evil grew a conscious?" That simplifies the entire plot greatly but that feels like the main thing being tackled in this manga.

Loved it to bits, made me feel so many emotions. Highly recommend to anyone whose looking for a manga thats a bit different to the norm. Gives a lot of Naoki Urasawa vibes imo
