well she got hit hard and shes unscathed, no explanation, not even a hey that potion was expensive, you'll pay me back sort of deal. so yeah, who could have predicted this outcome? whom indeed?!

That was a massive hit. She might still survive but that will be a lot of broken bones. A lot of you are going to be, "serves her right, I hope she's dead and all that." The real sad truth about many of these characters is that they are too shallow to even care about. that people feel so strongly about her(even ironically) to actually make commentary about her fate is weird to me. She's written to get you to be all angry which is a really cheap way to get readers all riled up but from the very beginning, the MC pretty much gets away in some form or another so the whole situation tends to be really weak. By all account none of the three should be able to escape even with his cheat skill, or at the very least two of the three should die, but that would require some greater writing.

He's always going to face them at some point. Given they are the typical dominant religious organization. 

This is how you do backstory. After we know who the character is now, you can then tell us how they were then. 

maybe he is almost at a crossroads. Also the MC probably wouldn't kill him. at least not without some attempt at converting or convincing him. 

i feel like the tone of this manga changed in the past couple chapters.

well they do try to get their revenge, but in the end they got a mother instead. 

a rival steps up to the plate. 

the new season in the anime is out too but for some reason i haven't really been drawn to it. 

interesting. Now he's actually actively trying to figure out the whole mystery. I hope they don't undo this with a restart. Its time to advance the story without a doover. 

a lot of them seems to be on an extended delay. still, its good to get something. 

that's actually really brave of her. Given her pride this is probably a good step in the right direction.
