what I don't like is that he knows way too much about this world, presumably he does his research offscreen, but they never actually explain why he knows all the things he knows. it's kind of irritating.

clearly that kid just has brute strength in everything including intuition. He doesn't need tricks or even natural intellect because he just sees through things naturally.

I've always wondered why when he was back in heaven he didn't really care much for the mortal world and yet he knows so much of it. Could it be perhaps he just has innate knowledge of the mortal realm but he doesn't really care much for life there?

If he is to be a leader, he has to make his own decisions. And if MC does not want to be a shadow puppeteer, he has to accept the outcome of this decision. In a way, this is a good outcome. The test was not about him killing them, it was about him making a decision.
