I read because it was pretty interesting till about midpoint, then it got very boring, I quit and then saw months later that its uncompleted and decided to continue through the boring plot till the recent arcs (from superhuman trials) got very interesting and now i'm invested again.

Unless the past and present are absolute (which it clearly wasn’t since he inherited yang jagak’s memories) He is indeed stupid for trying to kill himself but is smart for being able to verify if the sacred fire hourglass’s regression is truly absolute or if the future can truly be changed.
