You're dead on about medical school. Those poor sods have a heavy enough classload that they barely have time to eat and bathe, not to mention sleep. But I'm going to have to disagree about the cops. You see, I was a cop while working on my degree and remained one until I retired a few years ago. Most departments require college credits for most supervisory positions. But some semesters were a pain in the ass because once a week I had to pull 38 hours straight before being able to go home and rest. I wouldn't recommend it, but it can be done.
