I’m not arguing against you with it being suspicious. They’ll know the letter was coerced. However, now the content in the letter has been brought to light. You can say that it’s the mc’s letter to them through the hand of his enemy.

The real reason for doing this is, if he then sends another letter full of lies, they’ll have to investigate the truth instead of just barging onto his doorstep demanding retribution. Also, the leader of a sect will have to admit he was coerced by a boy who just won a little league tournament 🤣

So not only did he send a false statement to save his life but he’s too weak to protect his sect from a “child”. This’ll make them demand his resignation at best. So it’ll be best for him to not send a second letter. That way he can say that they let him run rampant because they were at fault not because they were weak.

True… but… also…all that’s written is technically true. Those words that he wrote on the slip all give birth to the ideas of what happened to the world. Those ideas are stronger because the perpetrator wrote them. Sure he can say that he was coerced into writing them but now he has to prove that he is innocent in those people’s minds. I mean, what other motivation does the MC have to be doing what he did then what was on the slip? He has to come up with a different reason and spin a different tale and make it seem more plausible than what he wrote on that jade slip. That’ll be a tall order with mc’s wife claiming that the young master was trying to rape her.

It’s even less realistic for an emperor would care for other king’s citizens like this. If he was elected by the citizens, then maybe. But his argument just falls apart. The citizens pay taxes to their king who then pays taxes to the empire. The distinction is that a kingdom doesn’t have to collect taxes from their people but will still be required to pay taxes to the empire.

For example: all commoners work for room and board nothing is theirs including the clothes on their back their lord gets a bigger manor better clothes and better food. Yet still everything is still provided. There’s no bartering nor gifting allowed because everything belongs to the king and it’s treason to assume ownership. A kingdom run like that would still require to find a way to pay taxes to the empire. And so they’d have to sell cash crops and meat/ precious metals to other kingdoms.

Btw, I think it’ll either be Deon or someone who’s sole mission is to eliminate Deon not the demon king. My reasoning is that the prophets are prophesying about Deon “the disaster”. Instead of what would normally be “the return of the demon king and the birth of the hero”.

TLDR: I think that Deon will be chosen by the world to either save or destroy it.
