The MC is ash at this point in my view because OG ash is dead and he was a douche so theres no need to feel guilty for taking his girl. I think the girl also wanted to love ash but the MCs persona is what truly made her fall in love. I forgot about the MC leaving if he survives though that actually makes a lot of sense to push her away, they shoulda focused more on that.

The whole swordsman girl being in love with him but having kids with the strongest swordsman around just to have strong offspring was way too weird for me but other than that its really good

Im specifically talking about the mc Love interest, harems are childish and cringe. But in most manga the mc doesn't feel anything for the woman thats been at their side through everything until every problem in the verse is solved. Its like once theres nothing left to do then they start returning the feelings their love interest has been giving them the entire series.

Even that sounds childish and unsatisfying to me lol, these characters are adults putting their lives on the line yet they have a middle school era mindset when it come to romance. It gives me the exact same feeling as having to do those awful MJ missions in the Spiderman games, it only detracts from the story.

Thats my point tho, if the manga isn't about romance the romance shouldn't be long and drawn out Its like doing those long ass MJ missions in the Spiderman games, it should be short and sweet if its there at all. And he spent months dancing and talking with her in a situation where its safe and away from the front line. It wouldn't be strange to at least kiss the beautiful and useful woman that is in love with new ash after this whole arc. The whole lets start over thing after already going through all that is outrageous theres literally no good reason to hold back. I think its the "take care of all worldly business first then think about women" mindset asians are taught to have bleeding into their art. This manga like alot of others has a great story and characters but the romance is objectively bad which brings the overall enjoyment down. The love interest should have been written in a way where she's still warming up for ash for the months he's there then when its time to leave she realizes he's changed and now wants him but he's already leaving.

Maybe you're right but it seems like every mc these days has zero passion when it comes to the women they have a genuine connection with and it feels inhuman and unnatural, it always throws me out of the story. Why not just write more male characters or better yet not have the Female characters be in love with the mc, Maybe its because I'm American but the lack of passion kinda disgusts and annoys me lol.

How gradual can it get at this point, Im not being exact but theres been like 10+ chaps focused on their romance and If i remember correct Ash feels the old feelings his body used to have for her and he grew close to her over the months he spent at the capital, yet he still turns down the useful and beautiful woman that is literally begging to be with him not for the family shit but because she actually fell in love after growing closer to him since his time at the capital, not to mention he could die any day and he's a young man. It doesn't make sense and it was literally a waste of time because they didn't progress at all.
