I didn't miss what the MC wanted. I just felt it was the wrong choice. From the isekai manga that I've read, majority of the MCs don't kill the bad guys. They are always naive enough to believe that somehow they will be reformed and 9/10, that decision comes back to bite the MC in the butt.

So it sounds like you've come across the opposite of what I've been seeing. I'll need to dig deeper and hopefully find stories where the MC is less naive and more practical
