Well, I, for one, am a little disappointed. Since the very first chapter, I had a feeling he took her Shuri in because of some sort of promise or charity. Not that this confirmation is bad, but I would have liked Johannes to stay a mysterious but noble character. Now he is simply being reduced to a pathetic, lonesome man with regrets, which I had hoped he wouldn't be.

His backstory was quite interesting. His character is quite interesting. His reason for being and his role in this world is also quite interesting. So, your loss, I guess.

I agree with you, but I think the situation is more complex than that. I think Norra is aware that his father's words were true, but the underlying issue - and his reason for being mad, lies with something else completely. Also, I see the situation as Norra being embarrassed, realizing his dad, whom he despises, saved the friends he himself put in danger unexpectedly. My point is that what we see on the surface here is no cause and effect, but a product of many years of strife between Norra and Albrecht.
