I get what you mean, but I felt like she went from "I'm going to kill myself" to "Everything will be fine as long as I have you" too fast. I just don't like that the trophy was what saved her. I get that the trophy meant more than simply being a trophy, but for me, the change went too quickly. As you said, the healing process should be slow, and it just wasn't the impression I got. I would have liked her to fall even further into despair and for the villain to have even more control before simply throwing it all away, making the resolution seem like a quick-fix, which I don't like.

I somehow ended up finishing this despite my doubts. Not the best villainess story I've read, but also not the worst. What it did well, kept me going till the end, and that's enough. Then, until next time.
