Ngl for once am happy to see sensible people in isekai world. If it were any other protag or their party they would have said- " Looks cute, let's make it our pet." Like literally wtf is that trend, it takes away all the seriousness from the series. The uncensored boobies from the prev chapter and now this, my evaluation for this manga has sored all time high.

Yeah what you said is right but it was more like this-First of all mc choose to get killed by his own son, even though his son was inferior to him in terms of strength he could not kill his own son and half heartedly fought and thus died. It was all a ploy of the woman vampire aegir met at the start of the journey. She wanted aegir for himself and thus turned him into his vampire kin by manipulating his son. Also it's not the way you'd expect that he did not die and became a vampire and came back. Basically he went with the vampire and left his wife, kids and everything after saying goodbye. Also lost many of his emotion's after becoming one. So yeah you can consider the aegir you know to be dead. Only the pipsqueak girl follows him after stabbing herself. I for one teared up in the ending chapters and if you think he comes back, yeah he does but after hundreds of years and that too in the side chapters which are still ongoing.
My personal suggestion for you is that you should read the novel as it is one of the best 0 to king kinda novel. It has every kink you could possibly imagine with every possible tag. Alas the most important thing is that the plot gets very detailed and godly later on and we get a charismatic villain which is akin to every great series.
