Wild cards who pick fights or act out or refuse to heed authority like everyone in his squad won't be trusted with any sort of leadership position in a militia with any sort of organization. As for why they respect him, it's hard to say.

The novel's only slightly ahead of this manhwa, but there's a short section where Rem thinks back on all the other shit squad leaders the 444th have had; a guy who barked a lot and got himself killed in his first battle as lead, a noble's son who fucked around demanding a spar and got hurt. Rem doesn't get around to saying exactly why Encrid is better, but I think this chapter gives a bit of a clue.

Guys with no talent and 1000% tenacity and drive tend to provoke one of two reactions: either you think they're annoying as all hell, or you can't help but respect them.
