I took a look at chapters 50-60 and it's pretty easy to be confused if you read it too fast. It's easy to get confused if you are reading too quickly because the MC is in a dream where he is experiencing a flashback that is not his own but that dream progresses into his reality almost as if he is sleepwalking as that character. You also get an extra dose of flashback from a different character right after these events so I would understand how it would feel like the story is all over the place at this particular point in the story.

I was never a fan of Meruem but the last moments he shared with that little girl was an absolute tear jerker for me. He chose to be vulnerable by needing her at his side in his last moments, and while it was more than he deserved it was still a sad moment.
