While it may be true for some, this must be done. Because if the mother confronted Diana and scolded her, she'll continue hating Gratia. Imagine them suddenly have an adoptive sibling and she get all your parent's affection. Ofc they'll be jealous. They're still kids. The parent must reassure any of their child worries and teach them to love their new sister. This is just my opinion which might be biased as I volunteered at an orphanage before....

This might be okay if her real child really likes the MC. I have read several manhwa with this kind of setting, they don't get jealous. They may dote her as good as her parents.

The thing I consider consistent is about how he behaves toward her only. At the very least he never bare any hostility toward Tia. Even on his first time meeting her. Compared to the other male MC manhwa with tragic childhood, they would usually lashed out towards their female MC at first and loveydovey toward her later. Not Perez. From his childhood he would look Tia with positive light. Maybe a bit lower when he almost run out of candy antidote before, but nevertheless he still one of the male MC which I personally like.

I think Perez did not misunderstand it. He knew that but he since he love her so much, he would use any chance to get affection from her. With this fake engagement, technically he would be able to show more affection that would be a no-no if they keep their status as only friend.

This is kinda oot, but I really like Perez as the male MC.
I've seen other story like this, the male MC usually cold but behaves totally different toward female MC after he loves her. Meanwhile Perez is one consistent MC. It's nice that he fully trust and support Tia. Iirc, he also never had any misunderstanding toward her. Ng, I am usually mad whenever I had to read a manhwa romance with a lot of painful-to-read misunderstandings....

However, since he's been protecting Cale and other people, he learned how to care others. Also since Cale and his inner circle knew Raon's past and even helped in Raon's revenge. He's done being a bitter and hurtful dragon. Raon now is a nice dragon kid with a bit mischievous side.

Technically, a desperate time reveals and amplify human natures. An evil person will become more evil. A kind person will become a kinder person.

He's not crazy. Letting them escape without any plan is crazy and truthfully impossible. Remember, this is just one boy without any power and influence in his household. They're definetely get caught if they walked outside without preparation.
Thus, he end them because he knows that they can't escape from his mother. It's not a really nice ending but I think, it's a logical one.
