So the whole point of invading the ship was to have an honor battle so the people of the territory would see him as legitimate. But the count is defending himself with mercenaries (MCs group), so that means the people of the territory would see the count as dishonorable and stop following him?

Yes, it is hard to believe. He flew in with an FTL engine and should have the blueprints to make one. He has something that can mass produce robots and other things, he could even start making more of those nanomachines he needs. There is also the possibility of sending out a drone that broadcasts a SOS message over long range and send it in a known direction in hopes it reaches someone before he can jump to space age tech on this planet.

Guy is building entire cities with guns and robots but can't even make a drone to send into space to get help.

I'll humor you a bit, the only illegal thing that those guys did was steal slaves from slave sellers because buying them was too slow. They only implied they might have signed some illegal slave contracts and we will figure that out soon. Most of the illegal stuff that we know of was done by Lute and his group, and he did it with the intention of freeing the slaves.

If Lute was the MC everything he said and did would be correct. But sadly he is not MC.
