No no no ... It totally makes sense... Let's say I work in A that pays almost double of regular salary in other company, A also provide me with more money for meal, transportation, and equipments on top of that. Then I heard that my company is having financial difficulties, so u expected me to sit tight leg crossed watching A company went bankrupt so I can look for another job in another company that pays half the salary and didn't provide anything?

i mean if you work in a company that treats you well pays you well and covers related extra expenditures for you people might be inclined to work like that cuz where are you gonna find another company who is not at your throat and doesnt want to work you till you lay dead

It makes sense from the perspective of employees who cherish the company to be willing to go above and beyond. But it's also dangerous for both the employees and the company to go through with it. It only takes a single employee suing to tank the company. And they're basically promising not to sue based on an honor system. The same set of conditions that maintain that honor system (emotions) can just as easily collapse it.

There's also the risk of the company taking advantage of it, or employees perceiving the company as having taken advantage of them -- both of which can end with the same results. And there's no way to set up a contract for that kind of agreement, since the contract itself would be illegal and unenforceable. And would instead just act as further evidence in a lawsuit.

Never mix business and friendship. Clear boundaries need to exist between the two. Because when they mix, people have a tendency to get hurt.
