basically the pills are mana pills which give mana to a person
in normal circumstances the person would die or get hurt badly
but if he consumes the mana properly it actually helps a lot
they properly feed them mana so they can make the contract with that thing
so it either feeds on them
or uses them as bodies so they can roam the normal world
we don't know yet their reasons
