I don't wanna go checking all the chapters looking where it explains how the House of Floyen had been blessed by the God to become the protector of the empire for you. You need to read it properly. A knight assigned to protect the emperor should be loyal and protect the emperor no matter how evil he is. And do you even consider the risks for killing and usurping the throne could bring chaos to the empire? Did they have enough supports from other nobles and enough army to defeat the emperor back then? If you were the duke with that common sense, you would die immediately alongside every people in your family.

Damn you need to chill. Legis and his father couldn’t do anything to the emperor because they were bound to be the protector of the empire since the very beginning. He thought they would be fine since he hid the evidences of his wife being a mage and the emperor didn’t pose any threat to them at that time. When the emperor found out about his wife being a mage and threatened him, he realized it was already too late and the only thing he could do was to signed the contract. People say why didn’t he refuse the contract. He simply can’t, he didn’t know if the empire knights already got his wife or not at that moment, he couldn’t risk his wife being killed because he refuse the contract. I don’t know why are you so mad about the things that have being explained in the story. If the story is too stupid for you, why bother read it until 100+ chapters unless you found it intriguing that you keep reading it. I drop this at chapter 10. I don't wanna spend my time reading a story when the two main characters have feelings to each other but they already have gf/bf, so they stay being "friends", but keep hurt each other in the process, only to be together in the end.
ML kept being way too friendly to MC while telling others that he had a gf. In his excuse, it's okay for him to behave like that because they were childhood friends :)
