Is the police going to wait 24H to see if the kidnapper has a change of heart? I love this manga, the cast is well fleshed and each character has its own quirks. A more actual take on the isekai genre (yeah, technically is not isekai but trapped in a videogame). Also if you like these updated takes on isekai you should also check Isekai Arigatou

This might be a detail but about Zuma and his brother shoes, in the whole chapter they had the same shoes. The little brother wearing rain boots and Zuma what it looks like typical Japanese indoor school shoes, which could be drawn like that to put emphasis in the family money problems, even worst in the case of Zuma because it would mean that there's not enough money to even buy another pair of kid shoes. Only in the amusement park trip he has a different (new?) pair, as if the mother already decided in it being their final trip so she didn't need to care about money anymore

The cop must be someone close to Zuma family, maybe he is the one that has been taking care of Zuma since his mother attempted murder-suicide.

Thought the cop is a close neighbour or a relative, if he was the little brother then it implies that Zuma is in a different time axis or time pass differently while inside that game. If Zuma was the little brother then he would be a ghost
