For the later part of this comment, my previous comment explained it. Overall, I just don't like how the MC make Park Sihoo does his bidding even if its for saving the world. He deserved this ending at the very least if you actually put on Park Sihoo's shoes and see things from his perspective. I read the web novel, it was about the same as what you said here. But the clear thing so far is, he "somewhat" made up with his family, but he only treated the girls as classmates on first name basis, not girlfriends, not even friends - only their one-sided whim.

Maybe you forgot, but Master Gu's demonic cultivation is actually 4-5 realms higher than his orthodox cultivation, as shown how he easily wiped out an elder without much of a scratch in the confined world.
