Right after this scene, Francis became a sort of wingman between Erica and Harold.

Harold briefly passed by Erica and asked her if she wants to marry Francis, which she thought that if it's for the sake of the family, she'll accept it.

Harold got annoyed and asked her what she truly wants and stop thinking about family or other people. Erica then told him she doesn't want to marry someone she didn't love, to which Harold briefly smiled, satisfied by her answer and leaves.

Francis arrives and told Erica what happened during the duel(and that Harold said that Erica doesn't need protecting).
Seeing her face filled with joy(that she's trying to hide) after hearing that made Francis give up on Erica.

Erica then recalled Harold's relieved smile earlier, hoping that this event somehow made Harold even a slightest bit of jealous. She knew the idea is wrong or she's misunderstanding, but she couldn't help but be happy thinking about it.
