A new heroine joins the fray.

I don’t think there will be another arc. Each of the trio of friends has had their own arc. There's a good chance the manga will end once the third arc concludes.

Two more weeks before the next chapter. Thank God. This may be one of the hardest things I've ever tried to read through.

If I had to guess, the guy will probably turn out to be a jerk, and Mahiro will show up like a knight in shining armor. Either Mahiro will use this moment to confess, or Hina will start catching feelings, wishing Mahiro had been born a guy instead.

Not really. We went into this arc knowing it was going to focus on same-sex relationships. And the last author comment mentioned both male and female same-sex relationships. So when the new hire was female and us knowing she won't magically become the heroine of this arc it was reasonable to assume that she was the female LGBT representation mentioned prior.

It's a genre 99/100 I'd usually skip. The rare exceptions would be the anime for Madoka Magicka and The Executioner and Her Way of Life. But we've made it this far. Let's get to the finish line together, friend.

When you think about it. It very possible that Leo's birthday is Regina's death day. Kind of sad.

I'm glad I don't read comments or engage with fan communities as much anymore, because I definitely didn't see that coming. I thought Yuuki was trying to take over the world for himself or something.

To be fair, this is a better use of Maxi's time and skill than being out in the battlefield trying to support the troops.

Didn't this rescue and subjugation campaign just start? Soldiers are being pulled from all over the kingdom, so exactly how many people from that one city are dying off? Also, is the kingdom not giving the families of fallen soldiers enough money to help them adjust to a more sustainable way of life?

Even knowing all that, I still don’t have much sympathy for King Blaine, and here’s why I believe you’re wrong. This wasn’t his first strike. His first offense was back in the auction house, where he attempted to force Arthur to sell Sylvie to the court magician in exchange for a sword and the lion he bought for his son. The second was attempting to have Arthur killed after Arthur had saved his children and many others from the terrorist attack at the school.

Now, this is his third offense—he was willing to sell out his entire country just to save his children. Even if we excuse this by saying, “Well, he didn’t actually go through with it,” let’s be honest: if Lord Windsom hadn’t shown up, Blaine would have absolutely gone through with betraying his entire continent. The outcome would have been the same as the dwarves’ betrayal, regardless of his reasons.

On top of that, Blaine explicitly stated that killing Arthur and betraying Dicathen was for “his greater good.” This shows that, despite everything, he was only thinking of himself. While the dwarves may have acted out of greed, Blaine’s self-serving motivation doesn’t make his actions any less destructive.

Moreover, as a king, I hold him to a higher standard than an ordinary person. He killed his corrupt father and promised to do the best he could without obsessing over power. The entire human race was counting on his leadership during these troubling times. Even if it meant going down with the ship, betraying the very people who put their trust in him is inexcusable. Leaders don’t sacrifice their people for personal gain, and Blaine’s repeated failures make it clear that he is unworthy of the sympathy you’re asking for.
