I think people's brains have been so rotted by mediocre fast paced big explosion bullshit that when a series comes along where the author actually builds up shit and takes their time establishing the story and raising the stakes, they bitch and moan it's boring or mc's nerf'd or it's just a chapter of characters talking

like I don't mind one punch man but like, seeing all this build up just to have the mc obliterate the bad guy instantly kinda gets old. plus the author has to find new ways to keep saitama away from fights as they've written themselves into a corner, saitama is invincible and his strength is so broken so there's no way to prolong fights or raise stakes with him. I'd rather have kafka getting curb stomped than be not even phased when a kaiju rocks up knowing it's gettin one punched 2 panels later
