I agree, at the start when he focused on just a handful of characters it was an amazing story, I loved the tournament arc and I usually hate them.
As for his next series, I reckon he should go horror, there are some panels that look genuinely terrifying and the looks of absolute horror/despair on some people's faces were amazing. Or maybe he should go seinen, I just felt like he wanted to brutality murder a lot of characters but cause it's shonen he couldn't (I could be completely wrong about that tho I have no idea how the manga industry works)
