damn. the amount of characterization from such little interaction, I'm really impressed. these chapters are so good! every new development feels intriguing and funny. I love the way everyone's differences in perspective gives color to the events that are unfolding. reminds me of narita (baccano, durarara etc)

hard air vs hard earth is a bad matchup for tan tan. that punch to the calf could seriously ruin someone because it afflicts everything that passes the knees. tan tan's kick to the shoulder is best against people with poor balance. you have to get bumei off his feet or reacting poorly to an attack, but this is the basis of bumei's training so it's like quizzing him in what he studied already. not as effective.

in the exchanges bumei only has to swivel but tan tan is making large motions. when bumei does that last circular kick it's a straight punch that counters him, having less distance to travel.

of all the things to say about this, the need for the haruna paru BLverse to be a story within a story of this series is the strongest. it would've been fun to use it as a way to restore the fuzzy feeling of the first part through a related narrative for the martian audience, similar to how the manga in mairimashita iruma-kun is like an interpretation of the story through an adjacent style of the genre.

runner up is the level of detail of rakan's nipple but what is there to say. this hit me so hard. it's so womanly too.

beautiful progression of the story. I could write long comments on every chapter, what a fun ride this has been. it's at first strange how little asuna was a part of this second half, but from uq holder this has a good thematic justification which adds to the feels.

I read uq holder as it was coming out from near the beginning and it wasn't until the tournament that it clicked for me that the story was a sequel. It took a while to come to but it was encouraging to read the first work and feel it's very much the same, we hear so much about stories we don't see that it almost sounds like another chronology happened. I just thought it was a trait of the writing.

Every one of these parts I would read if it was the entire story by itself. A story of stories is even more exciting!
