6 chapters in and this looks really promising. I hope the story doesn't devolve into some poor attempt at an avant garde story that only hurts the story. I like how there's no killer plot going on with the leaf mask guy and the guy's genuinely just trying to go off grid, but looking at the author and some reaction from the MC I hope he doesn't kill the guy in some vain attempt to impress someone

Problem is 9 times out of 10 it's not a governmental military organization but a 3rd party company's private military force that is misusing what is essentially a supercharged children's toy to hurt people instead of whatever the creator's intentions with the toys are

A hobby anime refers to those kinds of anime where they were made to promote a certain kind of hobby product: Yu Gi Oh, Beyblade, Monsuno, and the likes of it. Now in those kinds of anime the hobby items, which is being refered to as promo toys in this context, usually have some sort of power: Yu Gi Oh and their shadow games, Beyblade and their quite frankly absurd abilities, Monsuno and their ability to summon monsters.

Now in these kinds of shows sometimes the stakes just get way too high to the point where there's like a military organization using those items as weapons instead of treating like the creator intended them to be: Toys. So the main character may get and scream something similar to what the Uncle said.
