one of the manga you can see develop in story, writing and artstyle over time. just when you thought the next arc can't get better it does. reminds me of old manga that takes 100 chapters to get good but this one only takes 15. the paneling even has a sense of cinematography to it.
kagurabachi is doing action different from anything i've seen. it's cinematic, easy to follow, sticks to established rules and doesn't drag on.

The balance of fantasy and realism aspects like rpg stat distribution + personal finance management are really solid and grounded, the sex is good, and that's all the flowers i'll give this manga.

The story has 0 end goals or stakes, which makes it boring as hell after a while. MC is morally degenerate, a slave owner, serial killer, petty thief and a nepo baby, and the slave girls are uninteresting as characters. Worst part is you follow the MC's perspective. He kills and dismembers 5 people HOPING they had bounties so he can purchase a slave, and it's not even a big deal. Slave girls exist for his whims, convenienve and sexual relief which is why we see them have no personality.

Let me assume the author and editor's thought process for making this piece of literature here:
"lets make an isekai power fantasy where the self insert can adventure with and fuck pretty girls"
"but normal women are annoying and they talk back"
"ok lets make it slave girls"

overall it's a fun self insert slice of life fantasy all the way and doesn't try to be something it's not, which honestly i respect. and the sex is really good. Though would not recommend for people who already have mixed feelings about slavery, murder and capitalism or hopecore folk who just watched Superman (2025).
