Remember, that murim world is part of a virtual reality game, it's not real. You may need to carefully think about investing more INT points before coming down to some strange conclusions about this story.
There are countless geniuses and "smart" people in our world that don't bother to workout or build up muscle mass or even bother to stay fit.
And yes, there are countless fit and athletic people who are "smart" too. People have to raise their stats equally and diligently. Raising only one stat first could be detrimental to the rest of your stats.
In which case I agree that it's stupid that so many characters raise only one stat and disregard their "intelligence" xD
In a way we have to blame the publishers for forcing authors to write BS and make stupid characters make stupid decisions just to increase the number of chapters, delay the final chapter, give them enough time to come up with their next title... etc.
If intelligence was required for him to properly explain his martial arts to another party so that they don't have to struggle through it with intenseive physical training... then that would have been his only real requirement for it.
There are two types of people in any world. Those who learn best from second hand experiences, and those who learn best by experiencing it themselves.
Mages that require int or wis stats, usually fall into those who learn from others and from books.
Most physical-type fighters don't usually read books or require writing their techniques down. While basic education and literacy did improve many armies over history, it didn't make any one individual a better fighter.
Intelligence and wisdom can be a double edged sword. If utilized properly you could grow stronger, but at the same time it could also become deadweight for you. The more intelligent and wise you are, the more cautious you become, the less reckless you become. That means less risk-taking, and if risks are required for achievements, that means more missed opportunities.
For the MC, it was fortunate for him to not invest into intelligence or wisdom early on, since the struggle to become stronger was a much-needed component for character development.
If all MCs were smart and wise, there'd be less things to laugh about in a plot, there'd be less fun. Tons of plot can be skipped, and the MCs will be able to make leaps and bounds, and stories will end earlier.
That's probably also why many authors don't let their characters invest into intelligence too.
Intelligent characters require more story writing, more intelligent plot writing from the author's part. Dumb characters don't require such intensive writing.
"thought" -> "think"
or "have thought"
you didn't possibly mean to say "inherit" did you? those two words are very different....
