imo, Its more like they exist for different reasons, kind of like programs they will only do things that they were made for(i.e protecting the world and not saving humanity) ig the world has a different system for humanity which goes against the demon lords whenever they pop up but the great spirits are not a part of that mechanism which is why they only interfere when someone tries to destroy the world(in case the demon lord tries to flip the chessboard when they lose against the heroes and the sages that came as a result of the humanity protection system or against, idk, Outer gods ig)
