could've been a really cool fight with them both trying to figure out how to counter/ work around each other's magic nullification. The fact that a swordswoman would allow herself to lose her blade so easily is crazy.

I guess its my fault for taking the character who had been evaporating folks prior to this chapter seriously, but this fight turning into comic relief is kinda disappointing

Were they already inside once the arena's barrier was set up? That makes some sense as an event with so much nobility and such might need a special task force on stand by, but why the hell weren't they immediately suspicious once they saw antonov present but not actively helping contain the situation. How they dropped their guard as soon as they saw him, no matter what connection they had to him in the past, was awfully stupid.

I understand this was supposed to be an aura farming moment for antonov but it honestly really just makes the Haetae look mediocre and dumb

Damn the foreshadowing started real early

I mean sure, I get that this is all symbolic serving as an example to strive forward inspite of the injustices in the world and inspite of the fact that hardwork won't nessecarily result in the best outcome, but in this setting where nothing is actually at stake the fact that this is all really just a play is really hard to ignore. still gets the point across but kinda cheapens the message to me.

and also Adel's philosophy on children needing conflict to grow is a little warped. Its true that children who are TOO sheltered can have stunted problem solving skill and also have a harder time coping with stressful situation because they have no practice doing so. That does not mean you should just watch has them ram their skull against a brick wall because "they haven't given up yet". There are situations that, because of their lack of wisdom, a child will set themselves on a path that is literally a dead end or will only cause them harm. In which case forcing them to give up turn around and retrace their steps before irreparable damage is done is the responsibility of their gaurdian(s).

and saying "they must also learn how to overcome trauma" while your ward is getting their shit kicked in while trying to resolve someone else's trauma, while also being the person who locked themselves in a time dilated attonement room for eons because you couldn't process your own trauma is genuinely kinda dumb.

yea, remember last chapter he had to break the goddess statue to see what actually happened. Since the rest don't know the goddess like loki does they probably didn't even think to be mistrustful of what they were being shown and thus didn't think to try to do the same.

uh no, the raising children analogy does not work when you have a full grown adult throwing away the lives of his soldiers because he's bullheaded and doesn't understand basic logistics, actively going against the advice of his generals, abusing his (admittedly masochistic) subordinate, and throwing a tantrum and shirking off his duties when things don't go his way.

Dude spent countless years plotting/ fantasizing about his brother's downfall and usurping him without gaining a single iota of a clue of how to lead and now that he's head hancho he's running around like a headless chicken. He spent all the time he should have spent learning about warfare, politics, and generally how to rule, with his head up his ass.

Really hope the generals form a council or something to find a new demon king or establish like a joint rule, literally anything to not have yuigarde on the throne, but with him being with the "redemption arc" crew i doubt that's the way its going to go
