Alas, in manga universes, “hero” is often used in the ollllld sense of “famous person who does big, difficult things, regardless of whether those things are good, bad, neither, or even actually worth doing in the first place.”

Herakles’ famous labors were penance for murdering his family, Odysseus got lost on a relatively tiny sea for several years and made up a ton of tall tales about monsters that don’t exist, Paris got horny for someone else’s wife and started a massive regional war to get her for himself (and a bunch of other “heroes” showed up to join in the war crimes good times!) and this is just off the top of my head without going to look up more.
