He's lying for literally no reason at all. It'd be a hassle isn't enough of a reason to put yourself into a way more difficult situation to handle. Lying to his daughter has no benefit to him at all

Not wholesome. It's basically a cheating/ntr plot where after any major development between main couple, shy girl (who claims she's not a lesbian) emotionally and physically cheats with their mutual friends at the first opportunity (in all cases, she initiates the cheating). It's a terrible manga where there's the cliche of all the girls depicted are actually lesbians despite none of them being out, just for max cheating potential. Shy girl is a straight up terrible person and low-key bitch. Her wishy-washy attitude and lack of trustworthiness shows why she didn't have friends and should not have them in the future either. You want to root against her unless you're a degenerate who likes ntr plots. Not recommended.

I didn't know a manga couple could get together without 100 chapters of inching towards a confession before taking 10 steps back. Uncharted territory.

author doesn't know how to draw ears. too distracting for me

this starts out good with romance being the focus, but then falls apart in later chapters. I wish the focus was just on the romance rather than moving from ecchi-ish romance to pure ecchi, then a stupid love triangle, and then pointless backstory. the tone just doesn't support what it's showing. It becomes increasingly ironic, sarcastic, and emotionally distant as it goes on, which is a bad choice for what's romance first, as well as a manga which of course has the slowest releases schedule imaginable. she's clearly in love for the first 20 chapters, but it gets expressed as just lust and using the MC later. this slowly becomes the most lowest common denominator bakemonogatari horny bullshit by the most recent chapters

And MC activates his virgin shield, but wait, FMC counters with aggressive flirting. MC responds with a predictable self cock-block, but again FMC has an answer. She touches him and makes it rain through her mysterious divination powers. It looks like they will smash, though MC is undefeated this season in protecting his virginity. Will she be able to use her knockers for the TKO seduction? We'll see the results, right after this break.

"halo effect" is copium for losers. if a character has no positive qualities and just serves as an empty insert character, they are a nobody. a passive houseplant of a MC is boring every single time, no exception. if half the story revolves around someone with no confidence, no friends, no interests (besides the most common denominator), no personality, no presence, etc., he should not be in a romance. I don't think characters in these lighthearted stories need to be chad handsome megarizzers, but they should have at least one quality (beyond obligatory nothing japanese manners) that make them attractive to the FMC--and it doesn't even have to be something traditionally attractive. if he's short, make him cute to the FMC for being small. make him average looking but smart or have unexpectedly good conversation skills. make him super into something weird FMC also likes. make him unique or interesting in some way so there's something to grab onto or explain why the most sought after women likes a complete loser (beyond it just being for shameless loser insert reasons). make him something legible as an individual person, rather than an empty void whose attractiveness to the girl seemed to just be "has a warm body and is in my class." if he's a houseplant of a person, then why didn't she fall for any of the other manga-reading, no club-attending, friendless, awkward dork houseplants in her class? and "he was kind and returned my eraser in the first year of middle school and now i love him 4 years later" is not enough reason in a story; there needs to be logic in storytelling and super desirable girl likes houseplant loser is narratively incoherent every time

MC uses his daughter to make money on YouTube. I don't think it's right to subject your kid to that kind of attention; content creator is a job. if the $ depends on the kid, it's not just a hobby for her but a job. "i know you don't want to right now, but we need to for money" - wrong.

Overall, this is a lot like Komi but with a better, weirder girl and nicer art. Also, the title of this could easily be "This boy is average but extremely lucky" - weird hot girl likes him for no reason just because he said hi to her once. However, he is much better than the typical insert nothing MC. he gets nervous but it's rarely an obstacle since he has autopilot blackout rizz that saves him from passivity whenever his nerves strike. if only he could have a growth spurt so he stops looking like a 10 year old, he'd be really good

MC is too unlikable for too long. His approach to this world is the equivalent of training a magikarp to lvl 100 by only fighting lvl 2 pidgeys because he doesn't know anything about pokemon games. he is stupid which leads to inefficiency; this is played for humor but it's not funny; it just makes the plot bad. i find no reason to read a story so focused on a very detestable and dumb main character. Others say he improves as it goes on but I've read 125 chapters and he is still terrible and stupid. it is bad; read something else

I thought the MMC of Nagatoro looked like a cuckold in an NTR doujin, but he looks like a chad compared to this guy, who looks like he would smile while sucking the other man's toes during such a scenario.

I'm like 20 chapters in. Here's the lowdown: MC is a normal guy and FMC is a flirt with MC and ice queen to everyone else. They like each other and it's that "why aren't they dating?" meme every chapter. He's a stereotypical japanese teenager who can't confess despite their romance being reciprocated (just because he's too shy, I guess?). They just do cute shit and circle the drain with their romance ad infinitum. I don't see the connection with Nagatoro (who is way meaner and more teasing than this FL). Here, the girl just puts MC in awkward situations with others by making it seem like they're already together (which they might as well be, given how everyone around them acts and treats them). It's a pretty typical short chapter romance where you can't really tell if there'll ever be a confession or if they're just flirt until the mangaka stops putting out chapters. Translation and proofreading are also pretty spotty; still good though.

the main character is basically a pathetic coward who hides behind school rules and tattles all the time. he puts on this badass facade despite being a huge weenie most of the time. he's gotten a bit stronger more recently through his harem connections, but overall he is pretty unlikable. it does seem like one of those annoying characters become slowly more likable type stories, though

MC's dad was the most accomplished and connected man in murim, according to all the lies MC tells.
