I think this manga illustrates and pushes clearly that your narative is wrong, and naive, that is what the author is trying to convey, but that is just my two cents. Try to think of the bigger picture as well, if they just left, and one day were seen by the villagers, the villagers would have reported them and they wouldn't be able to live in peace in the future, I'm just playing devils advocate here, I think you overlooked this simple fact, and are similar to the burnt face "kind" person who (unknowingly) asked his sister to die, for a sadistic serial killer (in this case it was the villagers, they were all showing psychopathic tendencies, as normal in hateful societies) and later on killed the very person whom he helped kill his sister earlier, saying that he didn't deserve to be saved.

but in her point of view they do deserve to die? not because of their xenophobia but since they are trying to kill and tried to kill her, hurting her tremendously to the point of near death, then they deserved to be or at least should be ready to be killed by her as well? golden rule... and I think that's what this manga is all about, trying to convey that there isn't right or wrong in war, when something is trying to kill you, just happen to be on opposite sides.
