Didn't this story have a Demon King? I have read so many stories with a similar premise but... isn't the Demon King in this story kind of fked? xD

This makes more sense but it still leaves out spiritual creatures which is a bit weird given they're guarding the habitat of such creatures.

The world building feels incomplete when they don't do any checks for demonic energy, you would think they would at least place a contracted spiritual creature near the entrance to do this job. They already have a task force to deal with demonized people, bit of a fumble.

It better not be the case where he wakes up centuries later to fight with his descendants against the bugs. Why does it seem like that? That would be so sad.

The problem with that is whether or not the will would be acknowledged by the government, or in this case the guild. In the western world everyone has a default will, and we also have the right to change our will if we want something different to happen upon our deaths. It's most likely that a bottom of the barrel adventurers wouldn't have this kind of privilege.

Darren stealing the keepsake was to turn Kelt against him, so Kelt wouldn't be judged guilty by association. I assume the bag he threw into the river in the flashback was the money he got from selling the bow.

Honestly though, the problem was trying to sell Geese's equipment right after he had died. You gotta lay low for a while and probably sell it the next few towns over where people don't know you.

The fights are straight up amazing, reliance on strategy instead of spectacle is always more interesting, but here we get both.
