I really respect and admire the author for accepting the axe with dignity and grace. Far too many try to wrap up their stories superficially in their final chapter. It's refreshing to see that the story literally just gets left as is, abruptly ending in the midst of a chapter.
It is upsetting but at least the story wasn't ruined by rashly wrapping everything up. Combined with the message at the end, leaves that sliver of hope for damhos story to continue.
