Honestly these stories miss out by fast forwarding some of these details of the world around the MC while overly focusing on personal powerups. The MCs sword group having their first fatality would be a great opportunity to show his more empathetic leadership in hard situations. They literally spent more panels on the MC meditating to get "120 years worth of energy" then that potential story. The amount of internal energy the MC has is pointless. He will always have enough energy to overcome the hardships presented to him but not enough to steamroll the story right away. It is a moving goalpost that doesn't change the core of the story at all. The relationships and the world are what matters.
