I'm too late to reply to the comments below, but I think it's more poor artwork than storytelling: people who master ki/qi/chi (s we can assume these all have), have more better physical abilities all around than normal people. That includes eyesight.
It hasn't been 2 days since they left, but 1 (and most likely less than 24 hours); they were on foot, not using ki to hide themselves (so no foot techniques to travel faster) plus they were carrying the veneered, unconscious lady.

So, my guess is that they made it half way up a mountain before awoke, and then she could see the battle and gave her speech.

Kf course, no longer hiding themselves to return, they can use footwork to descend and be all the way back pronto... or, well, within the hour.
