It's a competition so there must be some rules, i. e. not touching the ground outside the arena, if the ground is gone that means both that the participants are strong enough, and also that they used a strategic move which would force people to levitate or somehow demonstrate to be skillfull enough to avoid touching the ground WHILE still fighting each other.
