Last time the system showed up, it tried to force Yvonne into a no-win situation.

Dorothy then showed up and did something to it that gave Yvonne a way out. Ever since that happened, it hasn't appeared again.

So considering what we know about Dorothy and how we've seen her do her thing? She probably found some way to remove or disable it or something since she already knows all about it being an Elsa from the future and all that. The real question is if/when the characters will realize it.

My bet's on Hasting getting setup to fail spectacularly and not realizing just how screwed he is until he tries to get support only to have the rug swept from underneath him. Just to rub in how his superior didn't find him worth killing directly after how much he kept screwing up.

The rule is that you're not breaking the rules if you win and avoid pissing off people stronger than you. The instant that angel decided to start a civil war with the rest of his group he basically declared he no longer gave a damn about the rules.

Just like how that Goblin manager has been tap dancing all over the rules and the only reason he hasn't gone completely unhinged is that his backer still has him on a leash.

It's good though. Watching him troll so often is entertaining and occasionally getting the scrpit flipped on him is also fun.

Would be a lot more boring if he took everything seriously, always planned everything out to perfection, and never suffered setbacks or losses because he was always on guard and doing everything right so he never had any reason to try and change his approach instead of doubling down on what he already does.

That's exactly what it is. There's a bit of magical pressure to it, but the higher you go, the more ways there are to circumvent that fairly trivially. The main thing keeping the higher floor folks in check is them wanting to be subtle enough and pay lip service to the "rules" so that their peers (relatively speaking) don't team up to gank them AND so that they catch the eyes of people so much higher up the totem pole than they are that even if they did whatever they plan on they'd still get swatted like a fly.

Basically, everyone's a corrupt asshole and everyone knows it so they're all forced to remain subtle to avoid getting dogpiled. If you have a strong enough backer you can ignore that to an extent with your peers, but then you have to worry about pissing your boss off so you still can't just do whatever you want.

It has been a year and a half since we've seen him as himself outside of some cover images.

Crazy to think that was only 35 (70 if you count .1 and .5 as seperate chapters) chapters ago. This really is it's own major arc with consequences and all instead of a side trip like some people thought it'd be back when it started.

She usually calls him that because their initial relationship was essentially a contractual one.

Now that she's more affectionate towards him, while she'll sometimes use his name she also calls him that more as a term of endearment/nickname than how she was initially just being impersonal and stating where their relationship stood.
