I think it's impossible to get to level 80 using the points gambling method. I'll try it for 2 weeks but something tells me I will be level 70 in 2 weeks as well. At this point, the mystery box may be the only secure method of safely leveling up. I haven't had a level up from the mystery box in about two months though.

Well the downgrade condition only applies to level 70 and above. So the lowest you'll go is level 69.

Don't be too envious since there is a possibility of being downgraded 1 level with every single attempt. So it's possible to lose 5 levels in a single day if you are unlucky.
