Aida Mana is a girl who is always eager to do things for the sake of others.

One day, when she was visiting the Clover Tower during her school's orientation program, an enemy who called themselves “Selfish” appeared suddenly, and tried to manipulate her inner heart! To fight this enemy, she borrowed power from a magical fairy Charles to transform into a Precure!

To protect the peace of the world, other legendary Precure soon joined her in battle! A mysterious baby also appears, making each day a “Heartthrob” experience! The four Cures, always holding “love” in their hearts, are battling for the world's fate!

Nagisa Misumi and Honoka Yukishiro couldn't be more different. Nagisa is sporty and Honoka bookish, and while they attend the same school, they have very little in common - until one day, a shower of shooting stars brings two very unlikely visitors into their lives: Mippuru and Meppuru, refugees from the Garden of Light, which has been conquered by Darkness. Endowed with new and startling powers, Nagisa and Honoka become Cure Black and Cure White, magical defenders of the light --- together, they are Pretty Cure.

There are two versions of the story: the tankobon one, which follows the anime and contains four extra chapters from the sequel "Pretty Cure Max Heart", and the Nakayoshi one, which consists of 11 chapters about the everyday life of the main characters. The two versions were printed in 2014 as a two-volume series under the "Wide KC" label.

The world is threatened by Mephisto, the King of Minor Land, who tries to spread the Melody of Unhappiness. Mephisto is after the Legendary Score, in which the Melody of Happiness is written. In order to complete the score and protect the world, new Precure girls stand up to collect the scattered notes of the Melody of Happiness.

A small incident causes a young girl, Koto, and her brother A and Un to wander into this world.

They runs into a mysterious monk, get chased around by a tech-obsessed girl, and heartily enjoy their chaotic and colorful new life, while searching for a way home. But meanwhile, out of sight, a certain plan is being set into motion…

In this mysterious city where spirits and humans have been thrown together, the festivities are about to begin!

On the same event, subordinates of the Labyrinth Kingdom show up who want to collect the unhappiness of the audience. Love gets the power to change into Cure Peach and fights them. Soon after, she is joined by her good friends Miki, who is Cure Berry, and Inori, who becomes Cure Pine.
