Still, I’m sure he’s thought of something... probably.

I have to agree with Mangaguy’s comment that they’re both acting bipolar. Not only does the Saintess completely flip her behavior, but the MC also contradicts his own words and values. He trespasses to save an elf he was forbidden to help by the elder, claiming he can’t stand by and let anyone die or ignore someone in need. Yet now he suddenly refuses to help the king’s sick daughter, who might be dying, just because he doesn’t want to waste time on a patient? This is getting ridiculous.

I get the point about trying to see things from Iriel’s perspective, and that makes sense early on — she’s socially and emotionally warped by her status as Saint. But what threw me off was how fast her personality flipped after being overpowered by the High Elf and rejected by the Saint. One chapter she’s threatening to kill everyone and take him by force, the next she’s acting pure and harmless again. It’s hard to tell if that’s intentional instability or just inconsistent writing, but the transition definitely felt too abrupt imo
