Well to start, relative to my culture yes that is pretty reactive.. but i think i have spent enough time on the internet to see the difference between the lax and the reactive. Yeah i thonk i know why arakawa sensei choose to make mc on their series to be siblings again. Its the way that it is allowing them to have flaws and doubtand the resolving it while still treting it as the same existence. Sound like im babbling. But when a solo mc have flws or doubt they need someone to reassure them but having a third party do that to them is hard and feels kinda phony. So usually it was done to through fmc.. but then this will make fmc act as the perfect morals who is the beacon for mc.
