Like i said. If its bank who lend money to stranger i understand coz you can't guarantee everyone's intention or integrity.
If its about taking loan... then yeah better not to take any loan from person you don't know well. Even if its with interest.
Now if you want to lend your money.... make sure you know them well and you know they have good personality and integrity. Even if you charge no interest, the money will still comeback. Never lend your money to stranger. In my place there is even a saying. "If you lend your money, just do it with intention of giving" this is when you lend your money to a person with already huge pile of debt or with people who had little integrity. If you don't want to lose money then just don't do it altogether.
Btw.... is it really that hard to believe that kind of kindness is still exist? I still know a lot of people who is capable of that level of kindness

Well.... in my mind.. it goes like this .. just how many people tha is laye, lazy, unwilling or even vaulted on a debts that have interest. While the same could also be true to the opposite. Its just i dont really think it would make any difference. If any, interest is just putting more burden on the borrower.
Imo the one factor that make people paid on time is not interest... its their mindset on responsibilities. So yeah i understand if its a bank... but for personal to another personal loan... i dont think interest is needed... instead make sure you lent you money to someone who have good character and integrity
