An extremely delicious read. I read Leviathan some time ago and when I decided to start rereading it it really started coming out with the side stories. I had a lot of fun rereading, and re-experiencing this amazing art. I won't lie that the age difference is a little odd, but given that the world population has been so massively reduced I'm not going to really beat anyone over the head. I had a lot of fun reading this story and look forward to anything else the author/artists produce.

Def agree with this sentiment. If the enemies are so strong that the supporting cast can't help, then you either need to weaken the enemies or make the cast stronger. If you don't then it's just going to keep being lee from aura farming festival.

It's exactly this answer. They didn't take any precautions and largely underestimated what their comrade was capable of. They always were reluctant to accept that he was a bad guy even while watching him debuff someone trying to save as many lives as possible. Those back to back lack of awareness moments was ultimately what got them killed. Not sure why the author chose to waste them though, I do think more places magic is stronger but damn was their death underwhelming.
