well see it from the ape perspective, even if it wasn't waiting for them, how many steps or jumps will take for covering half of the forest, let's say the ape was around the hospital when the forest appear, the road, i am guessing the higway should be around lets say 30 minutes walking, since nobody put a hospital near a busy road, still for that ape will be a couple of jumps, so even if they where on high alert for the ape, the monkey just jumped on them whitout any problem, plus just got a buff from the world thing, so even stronger and faster, its very hard to notice something travelling several hundreds of kilometer per hour, even when it's coming directly at you, well you can notice, but usually when it's too late.

People love to think that they are always in control and they can see and notice everything, but from my experience, i know that sneaking on people is way easier that everybody thinks, i'm overweight, i suffered a brain hemorrage several years ago so my left leg and arm doesn't move as good as they used too, yet in many occations i just sneaked on people even scaring them when i suddenly appear behind them, i have seen people so distracted that they been hit by a bus in the middle of the street with no more cars and sunlight, so yeah, a giant ape using a dense forest as a cover, is a very realistic situation.

Not bad, this arc started kinda weak, but ended really good, even Banphy made a Cameo XD.
