Yea that is not the basis of friendship. The bais of friendship is sharing a room and sharing a drink. Sarah already told Mitsuba what she wanted from her from the star and they both consentsually agreeing with the kind of relationship they will have. Im not saying they are best friends nor comrade, they just friend and that is enough. They still care for each other to certain degree with the line is just their ideology.
