Man this series is so satisfying

Incredible stuff, really challenging. Kind of sad to me that people will read through the whole thing and refuse to get anything out of it. This art feels like it must've been very influential, and this might be one of the few mangas where the characters don't just explain at the reader what happens to spoonfeed the plot.

I'm kinda confused by the comments, where are the pronouns mixed up? Everyone thinks the mc is a man, is there anything other than the purposeful misgendering getting butchered?

Facial expressions on the demon are really so interesting. The artist is really on their game.

If I had not played amazing cultivation simulator, I would be completely unable to follow this story. However, I have, and it's pretty good.

So I'm gonna go against the mold here and say I actually like this development because this particular flavor of inability, being bad in an actual combat situation, makes the mc's previous actions actually way more likeable. Like how the hell could I even consider this mc worth a damn if he was this sword god who actually could get shit done in combat, but has done absolutely nothing because he was unsure of himself. This way, we actually find out that he had a good reason to be unsure, and I kinda like that. Now we just need him to actually train to get stronger and he will finally be an mc worth reading.

This one is amazing. If you like chainsaw man at all I would recommend this, has many great characters, villains, and people in between. Also, the dialogue is really complex and this is a great translation, which feels so rare with these really complicated monologues on less well known comics.

Gotta admit that's a disappointing twist. So tired of reincarnation, can we just get worlds that are fleshed out enough to supply their own mcs?

I think my interpretation of that speech is that humans view themselves as intelligent animals because of their capability to use speech, but that our interpretation of speech is entirely based upon our ability to recognize certain patterns and then respond to them emotionally, while other patterns are viewed just as information because we cannot recognize what is being said. So we see ourselves as intelligent, because we can use speech, but in reality we just haphazardly express emotions, and the root of all meaningful communication is nothing more than emotional outburst, which to a god would be an insult to intelligence. And I suppose this will fit into the theme as the story develops, which will likely be something along the lines of damning society for being so irrational and unorganized that pain and injustice is common.

Wow that's actually a cool twist. I looked it up and this first came out in 2004, so I wonder if this is one of the main predecessors to the trope we see all the time in Korean comics now of a martial spirit guiding their host. And on top of that, what might be the inspiration for even this?
