We HAVE to mix up the status quo in some way these days. When an author gets stuck you introduce a hurdle or rival for the sake of plot. It CAN be done well, but it really isn't done well these days.

I think never having experienced that kind of kiss and stopping things before they lead to sex means she's probably not a slut. Honestly props to the author for letting the guy escalate without cucking himself and it being the FMC who pulled back first. I totally get the frustration with the crew sometimes and their limits given how far we're at, but give Oda a bit more time to cook. In the past we've had times where half the crew was losing to enemies only to learn about their weakness so they can turn it into an underdog win. Our crew are almost always underdogs and I don't see why that should change now taking on bigger and more dangerous enemies.
