usually the "legal wife" is forced on the successor and the illegitimate wife is bound by love. Unfortunately, there isn't much he can do as the family head because charging the "legal wife" is akin to starting a war with the noble family she comes from. The part I never got was why do the always jump through hoops and not just kill the legal wife and brother and not get involved as part of the same excuses

the characters are starting to become stale. I could go on and on about it but the biggest reason feels like its a lack of rise, climax, and fall.

The comedy is gold, but because it's just tossed in everywhere it impacts the seriousness of crucial important parts where there should be tension. It was good in the beginning because the story still had drive but with the same antics without progression, it halts the storyline making it no longer feasible to binge. It feels better to put it on hold until I want to laugh for a couple chapters and sit it back down

something I've never understood is how is it possible to only hide cultivation beneath yourself... I get the not seeing how insurmountably high they are, but to hide completely is different. Trying to discern cultivation higher than you would be like trying to see the person on the ledge of a mountain from 6inches (16cm?) away. It makes sense that they can see whatever is below but not that they can just hide their aura completely. Especially because golden cores are usually able to tell golden cores hiding because they hide the same amount of energy, so shouldn't a golden core be able to discern at least a golden cores strength from an immortal hiding?

It'd make more sense if the most you can hide your energy is at the lowest level trying to perceive you while hiding ie:
Inspector mortal sees an immortal at mortal
Inspector golden core sees immortal at golden core
Inspector immortal sees everyone at current level
